Creative Minds Café

McClelland’s Creative Minds Café is a suite of free wellbeing offers for artists, arts workers, and creatives, including a series of online gatherings and an onsite event, designed to help establish ways of coping in the COVID era.

Programs are free and accessible to anyone identifying as an artist, creative, arts worker, art student, at any stage of their practice. Local creatives are particularly encouraged to take part in the project.

You can choose to take part in some or all sessions. The online sessions will be facilitated by our ongoing wellbeing partner The Mind Room.

Each online fortnightly ‘café’ 75-minute session draws on a different key theme and will use creative and self-reflective exercises as well as small group conversation to create an enjoyable and meaningful social connection experience.

Creative Resilience

creative art and wellbeing sessions

In times of uncertainty and change, it’s possible to rediscover your own resourcefulness. The arts offer opportunities to build confidence in our own capabilities and inspire new ways of responding.

McClelland is offering free creative wellbeing support sessions on Wednesdays from August through to October 2021. Book in for one or all of these sessions and come along to experience our collection and grounds in a new way.

This interactive program incorporates a variety of art forms, movement and story together with the inspirational sensory environment of the park and gallery.

Hatch – an arts incubator program presented by Frankston Arts Centre

We are proud to be partnering with Frankston City Council and their HATCH program. HATCH is an arts incubator program that offers opportunities for artists to learn and engage through a dynamic workshop and speaker series focusing on professional skills building and practical skills application for artists. Participants to the Creative Minds Café will also be able to take part in the HATCH program and further their experience.
